Student Leadership Academy

The Student Leadership Academy (SLA) Fall Retreat is a weekend for High School Students at the University of Indianapolis in partnership with the Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church. Student leaders are invited for an empowering weekend that emphasizes God's calling in their life both now and into the future.

Do you know a high school student who is passionate about making a difference in the world? Are you excited to explore where God may use his or her gifts for ministry? Are you ready to explore leadership that you'd like to see unleashed in their involvement in the church? We invite you to register them for this experience.

If you are a student who would like to attend, ask a pastor, parent, or faith mentor to register you for the event. Students who have attended Student Leadership Academy in the past are encouraged to attend again and will find new activities and next steps in exploring leadership and call.

Cost: $100 per student which includes overnight accommodations, Saturday meals, Sunday breakfast and all materials.

Registration deadline: November 1, 2022

Cancellation policy: cancellations must be received via email to lisa.timmerman@inumc.org by 11:59 pm on November 1, 2022 to be eligible for a refund less processing fee. No refunds after this date.

Note to pastors, parents and lay leaders: Because the investment of church leadership in these youth leaders is vital, you are requested to register the student for the event. We sincerely hope the church will pay the $100 fee for the youth to attend, but if finances are an issue, we do not want that to stand in the way of any youth attending. Overnight Adult Leaders: We require one adult leader (age 22+) per every 4 students from your group to spend the night with the students for Child Protection requirements and to assist with chaperoning. There is no charge for the overnight adult leaders. Overnight accommodations are provided.

Note to person filling out registration form: You will need to enter the Student, parent and overnight leader information - name, mailing address, email address, cell phone number. You will also need to enter the student's age, grade in school, special meal needs, accessibility needs and t-shirt size.

Student Forms: The following forms must be filled out and signed by the student's parent or guardian. Please download, print and fill out the forms. Save the forms to your computer so you can upload the form during the registration process. You can use the link in your confirmation to access your registration, then click on the "modify registration" button to upload the forms after you have completed the registration process. All forms must be uploaded before registration closes on November 1, 2022.
