This online course moves beyond the basics of Preaching 1 and helps build the foundations necessary for planning, preparing and delivering engaging sermons.  This challenging course includes a close examination off essential and critical resources and techniques necessary for sermon preparation and allows students the opportunity to write powerful sermons and to develop their preaching skills in a non-threatening classroom environment.  Prerequisite:  Basic and Preaching 1

Required text and materials:  From Pew to Pulpit:  A Beginners Guide to Preaching by Clifton F. Guthrie, 2005, Abingdon Press  ISBN 0-687-06660-3; Participants will need to purchase the book prior to the first class.

  • Bible (translation of choice)
  • Bible Commentaries
  • Note taking materials
