Lighthouse Congregation Training

Lighthouse Congregations are United Methodist Churches that receive training and make a commitment to welcome and provide spiritual care and support for individuals/groups who have been wounded by the church as a result of disaffiliation, church closure, conflict, abuse, or other traumatic experiences.

At least one member of the pastoral staff and one lay member in a leadership role must attend a Zoom training session (90 minutes in length). Following the training session, the decision to become a Lighthouse Congregation must be approved by the church’s governing board/council.
