You are invited to join us for the Lay Servant Ministries Academy to begin or continue training for living out the call to make disciples for the transformation of our churches, communities, and world. This is an in-person LSA and you must attend both sessions to receive credit. 

Cost: There is no cost for this event. Registration is required.

  • Introduction to Lay Ministry: the BASIC Course - led by Char Allen - Discover and employ your personal spiritual gifts, learn the worth of servant leadership, and be rooted in good spiritual practices.   • Discover Your Spiritual Gifts - led by Pastor Rickey Bevely - Unlock your unique purpose and move from the sidelines to the front lines of God's work. Discover how your specific spiritual gifts are the "missing piece" designed to empower the entire Body of Christ.   • Leading Worship - led by Pastor Andrea Kennedy - Understand the "why" behind our traditions so you can lead meaningful, spirit-filled services that truly connect your congregation to God. This course gives you the confidence to step into leadership roles, ensuring you are prepared to guide the community through the beauty and flow of United Methodist worship!  Course text - Worshiping with United Methodists (Revised) by Hoyt Hickman.   • Soul Reset - led by Rev. Ernie Troxell - This course helps participants discover the power of rest through practices that create spiritual wholeness. Beyond toxic cultures and "idols" of busyness, distraction, and consumption at the root of so much of our anxiety and disease, Rev. Dotson invites course participants to find their rest in the healing nearness of Jesus Christ. The required text is Soul Reset: Breakdown, and the Journey to Wholeness, by Junius B. Dotson.
