The Student Leadership Academy Fall Retreat, is a weekend retreat for high school youth (grades 9-12) to explore what they are passionate about, what problems in the world get them fired up, what gifts and tools God has given them, and what amazing ideas they have now for sharing Christ's love.  Recommend a high school student leader from your church for an empowering weekend that emphasizes God's calling in his or her life both now and in any future vocation.

Do you know a high school student who is passionate about making a difference in the world?  Are you excited to explore where God may use his or her gifts for ministry? Are you ready to explore leadership that you'd like to see unleashed in their involvement in the church? We invite you to register them for this experience.  Student Leadership Academy provides three tracks for students to help them continue to grow in their sense of calling and develop an understanding of how God wants to use their unique calling now and into the future.

If you are a student who would like to attend, ask a pastor, parent or faith mentor to register you for the event.  Students who have attended Student Leadership Academy in the past are encouraged to attend again and will find new activities and next steps in exploring leadership and call.

Cost: $50 per student which includes overnight accommodations at University Heights UMC, Saturday meals and Sunday breakfast, and all materials.  The retreat is facilitated by a team of youth workers, pastors, college students from the University of Indianapolis coordinated by Rev. Jeremiah Gibbs, Ecumenical Chaplain, University of Indianapolis.
 
Note to pastors, parents and lay leaders:  Because the investment of church leadership in these youth leaders is vital, you are requested to register the student for the event.  We ask that at least one adult leader (or parent) from the congregation be present on Friday evening at 7:00 pm for a joint opening session with the attending youth. Multiple Mentors are welcome on Friday evening.  There is no charge for adult mentors to attend the Friday evening session.  By registering your student, you are recommending them for exploring ministry and calling in a retreat setting with other students and youth leaders.  We sincerely hope the church will pay the $50 fee for the youth to attend, but if finances are an issue, we do not want that to stand in the way of any youth attending.  Please call Darlene White at 317-924-1321 for information.

Overnight Adult Leaders:  We require one adult leader (age 22+) per every 4 students from your group to spend the night with the students at University Heights UMC for Safe Sanctuary requirements and to assist with chaperoning.  There is no charge for the overnight adult leaders.  Please download, print and fill out the following Safe Sanctuary Accountability Form.  Then email to Darlene White at darlene.white@inumc.org or mail to: Darlene White; INUMC; 301 Pennsylvanian Parkway, Suite #300; Indianapolis, IN 46280.  All forms must be received by November 10, 2017      SafeSanctuaryAccountability2017.docx

Cancellation policy: all cancellations must be received by  November 5, 2017 at 11:59 pm by email (lisa.timmerman@inumc.org) to receive a refund less processing fee; no refunds for cancellations after this date.
